Church Ministries Conference Has Something for Everyone
New Ranger Program Highlighted in Ranger Workshops
The new training program for Ranger leaders begins with Ranger Basics. Current training will also include the Transitional Program that bridges the gap between the current program and the new program when it is fully implemented. Ranger Kids program is now being distributed by GPH with backorders occurring for the RK Leaders Guide.

The annual Mississippi District Church Ministries & Youth Conference was held at Southside A/G in Jackson, MS on August 23-24. This conference featured nationally known speaker, Maurie Davis, instructors, and a wide variety of workshops to help educate laymen and women on local church ministry topics such as including music, youth, sound, children, evangelism, pastors, Honorbound, Missionettes, and Royal Rangers, just to name a few. This year, the Royal Ranger workshops focused on the new Ranger program that is in its first phase of implementation with Ranger Kids.

The Royal Ranger workshops were well attended with more than 40 in each class. New commanders, church leaders, pastors, as well as veteran rangers were very interested in the new program. Royal Rangers offered three workshops plus a Question and Answer period. The workshop titles were: An Overview of the New Ranger Program, Intro to Ranger Kids, and Royal Rangers for the Small Church.

District Training Coordinator, Kenny Richardson, covered the new program as it will be when it is fully implemented. He also discussed the new training program with Ranger Basics and modular advanced training. Kelvin and Sharie Dykes, Ranger Kid leaders at Magnolia Springs A/G, gave an introductory class on Ranger Kids, the new program for Kindergarten through 2nd grade.

Materials are now available for Ranger Kids from GPH. Backorders are occurring so commanders should allow ample time for receipt of books and materials. The Leaders Guide is not yet published but should be out soon. The other age group materials are slated to be ready by March and Fall of 2003. Visit the National Royal Rangers WebQuarters for the latest news, materials and availability.
