Paintball and FCF Village, New Attractions at PowWow 2006

The annual Pow-Wow was held at Ranger Trails Campground in Terry, MS on June 9-11, 2006. We had a great time with all of the activities this year. The weather was as good as it gets. It was hot, dry, and dusty, but that beats wet and muddy anytime. The services each night were great with over fifty boys coming to the altars to seek a closer walk with our Lord. This year’s speaker, Anthony Hubbard, did an excellent job holding the boys attention with exciting stories and a word from God.

A new attraction this year was the addition of paintball guns. A target trail game was set up for the older boys to compete in Saturday morning, and a shooting range was available for everyone else to shoot in during the activity periods. We also had BB guns, archery, and slingshots to shoot at the range. I want to thank all of you who volunteered to work the different games and activities. A successful Pow-Wow cannot happen without people like you.

Mississippi District PowWow 2006Another change this year was the moving of the F.C.F. village to an area where it would seem more authentic. During the time that the village was open for traders row, everyone at Pow-Wow was fed by the F.C.F. members. We enjoyed eating on a whole hog that was cooked, eight Boston butt roasts, and a huge pot of stew, along with potato salad and baked beans. It was all good
